What is the difference between overload and overvoltage protection?

Overload (overcurrent) protection prevents damage to the power supply resulting from an output short circuit or overcurrent load. The protection function activates when the load current is greater than 121% to 160% of the power supply’s rated load current. This protection limits the power supply’s output current to prevent damage to internal components. On the other hand, overvoltage protection protects the load circuit from damage. It turns off the power supply output when the output voltage rises above 120% to 130% (depending on model) of the rated output voltage.
