SMC Safety Valve solenoid replacement
Can the solenoid / pilot section be replaced on SMC safety dump valve VP544-5DZ1-03N-S1-X555 ?
Unfortunately the pilot valve can not be replaced on the X555 assembly. (X536, X538, and X555)
In order to comply with ISO 13849, SMC provides B10d data for all safety dump valves.
If a component is replaced after the dump valve assembly has been placed in service, it becomes impossible to predict the new B10d for the assembly.
This, in turn, makes it impossible to predict maintenance.
As such, SMC has made the decision that they will not provide any replacement components for any of the SMC safety dump valves.
