Can All Power supplies connect in Parallel or Series?

Not all power supplies can be connected in parallel or series. Power supplies are connected in parallel to increase the output current or as a second back-up power supply. Connecting power supplies in series increases the output voltage. Industrial power supplies that can handle parallel or series connections typically need a diode system in place to prevent back feeding of power to the second power supply. Data sheets typically call out whether parallel or series connections are allowed and specify the maximum number of power supplies allowed in these configurations.
